Whenever I write something and call it done, some new piece of information that should have been included immediately presents itself. Today's Guardian reports that there has been a series of at least six attacks on power facilities in Oregon and Washington, leading to power outages.
These were surely all perpetuated by the same group; that is organized domestic terrorist activity. Oregon and Washington are a microcosm of the culture war: their densely populated western regions are urban and diverse, while the sparsely populated arid east has residents ranging from old-fashioned rural conservatives to heavily armed white nationalists. Thus potential terrorists and their intended victims live in close proximity.
This report also notes that a report prepared after a 2013 attack concluded that taking out merely nine critical substations could take down the power grid nationwide. Do the well-connected accelerationists know which substations those are? If so, since these people are capable of organizing dozens of armed men to travel long distances to invade Pride Days, they could likely black out the whole country any time they chose. Probably nobody who could do it is fool enough to do it yet, with the federal government not in their hands. It would force the FBI to bring the boot down hard on domestic terrorists, and few of the public would be in a mood to hear the whines of terror-supporting Representatives. Still, it is well worth remembering that such a thing can be done and may in future be done at some critical moment in order to cut off "normies'" communications and leave them helpless and confused. As the Boy Scouts say, be prepared.
